SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Sophomore forward John Grazioli (Melville, NY/St. Anthony's) scored 25 points and added five rebounds to lead Hobart to an 82-73 men's basketball win at Union's Viniar Athletic Center Saturday afternoon.
Grazioli made 11 of 13 shots from the floor and three of four at the line in 30 minutes to lead the Statesmen (7-7, 3-2 Liberty League). Union fell to 9-7 overall and 2-3 in the league.
Senior Joe Virgilio (E. Williston, NY/Wheatley) scored 16 points with 10 of 11 from the line, and senior guard Colby Feane (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport) also scored 16 points to lead Hobart. The Statesmen shot 54% for the day, including 58% for the second half after taking a 34-33 lead at halftime.

Brian Scordato (Mt. Kisco, NY/Horace Greeley) scored 13 points and had a game-high 14 rebounds along with four assists for the Dutchmen.
John Cagianello (Wethersfield, CT/Loomis Chaffee) led Union with 28 points while
Chris Murphy (Hastings-on-Hudson, NY/Iona Prep) added 16 points.
Union took a 42-41 lead, their first lead of the game, with 17:01 left on a layup by
Darcy Bonner (Chicago, IL/Loyola Academy). But the Statesmen went on a 18-7 run in the next 8:14 led by five points by Cory Keeling (Londonderry, NH/Taft School), and led 59-49. Union shot 39% for the contest, and the teams both pulled down 36 rebounds for the day.
Union will host Liberty League rival Rensselaer on Friday, January 27 at 8 p.m.
